Welcome, my friends, to the house of snot. It appears we have an ubervirus - it's snotty, phlegmy, vomitty and coughy at all the same time! Anyhoo, it's completely wiped both Grumbles and I out for the last few days (maybe that snarky coffeeho gave it to me? Quelle surprise!) so we've been doing a lot of this:
and plenty of this:
Guilty confession - so that I can sprawl on the couch, surrounded by the parenphenalia of the invalid (toilet paper to blow nose on, endless cups of tea or oj, sick bucket etc), in peace, I've been letting Grumbles watch as much of The Wiggles as she likes. Oh, the bitter irony for the non-tv owning parent. Regardless, thanks be for Jeff, Anthony, Murray and Greg. I love you guys.
Oh bless you snot heads! Weve got a spare TV if you ever need one.....succumb I tell you SUCCUMB!!! You too can fall in love 'Greys Anatomy' and ABC kids....
ReplyDeleteOh no you poor things, and it's worse when you feel poorly and have to look after a poorly kid too. I know the feeling, not good. I second what Shannon says, succumb to ABC kids, it's a life saver!
ReplyDeleteMust....resist...lure....of....tv......must....resist....
ReplyDeleteI do feel for you. I've been fighting something off for a few days now. I've been relatively lucky - Charles and I have never been ill at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWe succumbed to too much TV when Charlie was really quite ill last November and we're still recovering from it (the TV thing, that is). It's incredible how quickly children grow used to something and expect it. Mind you, I don't have a problem saying "no"!. I do think children can learn from the right TV progs but of course, too much is not good.
I am envious of you having no TV. I would never get away with that, not with my film-addict OH. I would almost always prefer to be otherwise occupied (and mostly, I am).
Get better soon.
Gazzunteit! Hope y'all start to feeling better soon :)
ReplyDeleteSick kids either watch TV or whine at you. It is a bad habit, but some morning TV before a sleep is a wonderful cure for colds.
ReplyDeleteOh, sorry you've been ill, and are you better yet? How is Galumph? What is The Wiggles? Hope everyone is feeling chipper or at least chipperer. Pretty knitting. Is that your last sleeve? I'm sorry you had a coffeeho. The coffee sellers here in Corvallis are always sweet and don't care what I call things or how blundery I am when I order, and they never make me sick. They do sometimes have wierd things pierced, though.
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of postive thougths! Get better soon.
ReplyDeleteLong live The Wiggles!
MY daughter loves the wiggles!! Sorry your so poorly. The smell of paly-doh still makes my brother feel sick too this day!!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwww...Grumbles so CUUUUUUUUUTE.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Snarky Coffeeho...hee hee!!
Gee, thanks for the well wishes, everybody!
ReplyDeleteVita, The Wiggles are a children's entertainment group. Damn their songs are catchy - once in your head they NEVER LEAVE! And yes, it is the second sleeve of the Yoga wrap. Well spotted!
