Crazy and paisley

I've been beavering away, sewing up a pair of summer jimjams for Grumbles. Because that's how I roll: I knit her cardigans at the end of winter, then make her summer pjs at the end of summer. Pathetic!

Fingers crossed I'll get them finished today, if I don't make any more colossal stuff ups. I'm not even going to tell you what I did wrong, so elementary was it and therefore all the more shameful. Let's just say that, as always when rushing, I find myself falling into traps laid for young players. Sigh. Time to hunt out my quick-un-pick...

  1. I love that fabric and ribbon combination.
I wish you'd share your stuff up with us as I am one of those young players who fall for the traps. Well, not so young, but definitely impatient when there's a sewing machine around and always looking for a quick solution. Which of course there never is.
Perhaps acknowledging that fact is proof enough that I am learning?
I'd love a pair of jimjams like that - she's a lucky girl!
I hope you'll share the finished result.

  2. I sewed the facing shoulders to each other, rather than to the front and back of the top. Dummy!

  3. I dropped in to ask if you sewed 2 front pieces or 2 back pieces together...cause that's what I usually do. And I see I'm not alone!

I was going to tell you about the time (a bit after I was such a young player) when I made some pull-on pants ansd sewed the 2 front legs together and created a nice peak right at the crotch!!! It happens to the best of us. My new motto ( I pinched it elsewhere ) is think twice cut once. The jimjams look great by the way can't wait to see it in more detail.
